Brain Awareness Week
March 11 - March 17
The eye acts as a camera which dilates in darker conditions to allow more light in, and restricts in light conditions to allow less light in. The lens of the eye focuses the light to the retina which is at the back of the eye, this acts like the film of a camera and absorbs and converts the light to electrochemical impulses which are transferred along the optic nerve to the brain. The brain then translates this light into an image. Brain Awareness Week aims to raise awareness for Brains of all ages, and to raise funds for Brain research.
