Optomap – Ultra-Widefield Retinal Imaging
Introducing Optomap, the only ultra-widefield retinal imaging technology that allows us to capture 82% of the retina in a single high-resolution image in less than a second. Optomap technology can image pathology past the vortex vessels, helping us to detect diseases as early as possible, and enabling us to manage the disease more efficiently.
Early signs of disease can be present in the periphery of your retina, and can remain undetected for a long time when using traditional methods of imaging. This is because these traditional methods only show up to 15 degrees of your retina at any one time, where as optomap’s ultra-wide digital retinal imaging captures up to 200 degrees of your retina in one image, making this the leading technology in retinal imaging.
Taking an image of the back of your eye has never been easier, you simply need to press your eye in to the keyhole-like camera and look to the centre of the target on the screen. You will then see a comfortable flash of light confirming that the image has been taken.
